Operated as an extension of Elizabeth City’s “harbor of hospitality,” the docks at Mid-Atlantic Christian University are the homeport to Maritime Ministries’ fleet and serve as a “home-away-from-home” for transient Sailors who utilize the Great Dismal Swamp route of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway. Each year our dock hosts about 100 transient boats from all over the world. It is not uncommon to have vessels from Canada, France, England, Germany, Australia, or New Zealand using our docks. In partnership with the university, dock guests are offered wifi and hot showers, as well as local knowledge and assistance with problem-solving.
