Perched on the rugged Southern Oregon Coast, the Port of Gold Beach is a maritime gem with a rich history dating back to the early 1900s. Originally established as Gold Beach Harbor in 1912, this marina has evolved to serve both the local fishing industry and the growing demands of recreational boating. Renamed Port of Gold Beach in the 1960s, it has since become a public entity, continuously upgrading its facilities to offer state-of-the-art amenities.
Today, the Port of Gold Beach boasts a modern infrastructure, including a boat launch, fuel dock, and transient slips. Visitors can enjoy a range of services such as boat repairs, storage, and rentals, along with a fish cleaning facility and sea lion patrol. The port’s historical significance is underscored by its proximity to landmarks like the Cape Blanco lighthouse and the legacy of R.D. Hume’s pioneering fish cannery and the steamer Mary D. Hume.
