Rose Island Yacht Club Association is a privately-owned boating community located in Prospect, Kentucky on the Ohio River at mile marker 589.8 and was founded in 1989. The club is named after the Rose Island Amusement Park which was located across the river on the peninsula at 14-Mile Creek. This amusement park was operational between 1923 and the great flood of 1937 and served as a great place for Louisville residents to access by road, riverboat and ferry.Rose Island Marina is a protected marina with scenic views of the river. The Association is managed by a Board of Directors which is comprised solely of slip owners. The marina features 139 boat slips of various sizes which are deeded to their owners. There is a clubhouse and pool available only to slip owner members. Security is provided by means of a gated entry and watchful boat owners. Individual slips are provided with hook ups for electricity, water and limited WIFI. Carts are provided to assist members in provisioning their boats and a dumpster is provided for trash disposal after your weekend on the water. Fuel docks are located nearby to the marina on the river. Boat haul out services and maintenance providers are located next to the marina. Seasonal slip leases are available on a limited basis directly through slip owners.
