Saquatucket Municipal Marina, situated at 715 Main Street in Harwich Port, Massachusetts, is a testament to transformative vision and cooperative effort. Once a meandering stream and marshy inlet known as Andrews Creek, this area was dredged and developed into a vibrant municipal marina between 1968 and 1970. The project was a collaborative endeavor involving the US Army Corps of Engineers, the Coast Guard, and local authorities. Named after the Saquatucket, a Native American group within the Wampanoag Tribe, the marina now stands as the largest on Nantucket Sound, boasting over 190 slips, ample parking, and a handsome harbormaster’s office. Following extensive renovations, Saquatucket Harbor now features modern concrete floats, an improved bulkhead, and a longer boat ramp, catering to commercial fishermen, charter operators, and recreational boaters alike. Its serene beauty and robust amenities make it a standout destination, blending historical significance with contemporary luxury.
