Originally built in the 1930’s, Sunset Shores was a thriving fishing lodge which soon became a popular family vacation spot nestled among stately pine and maple forests. Imagine the Ojibwe people who inhabited these shores. Here they had their summer gardens, maple syrup and hunted here among our trees. On Batchawana island the voyageurs pulled up their canoes to the trading post which faces our resort. Read the history of this area on our tables in the rec. hall & in our booklet.
