You’ll enjoy quick access to the Neuse – the marina is right on the Whittaker Creek channel.While you’ll want to enjoy life on the water, part of enjoying a fine marina is sometimes just looking at the water. The views from the clubhouse are spectacular. The rocking chairs are a great way to relax, and inside you’ll find the feel of a traditional yacht club. It is a great place to sit back and enjoy just being in Oriental.

Whittaker Creek is a narrow channel but is well marked and normally has sufficent depths for boats up to a 6 foot draft.There is now a new red nun, “no wake”, bouy just past R4 to assist boats running the channel. When running the channel, travel from red to red, staying clear of the green side of the channel. Stay in the channel until off the docks. There is shoaling on the green side of the channel.Whittaker Pointe Marina is the first marina on the right, before day marker G5. Stay in the channel until off the docks and then turn into the marina. The dockmaster monitors VHF 68 and will provide you directions and assistance.There is no current or tide. Any water level changes are caused by the winds affect on the Neuse River and Pamlico Sound.

The fixed docks have long finger piers to make docking and access easy. A wave attenuator to protect the marina from SW waves and chop has been recently added. It is reported to be best to dock bow facing SW when wind is in that quarter. Two 100 foot T-head docks negates any length restrictions. The T-heads are mainly for use by transients. The marina offers 35, 40 and 50 foot slips. The 50 foot slips are about 20 foot wide. Two catamaran slips about 30 foot wide are also available. $1.50 per foot if you are a member of AGLCA.Weekly is $7.00 per boat foot per week, electric included.Monthly is $10.00 per boat foot per month, electric included, $350 per month minimum.
