The 41st Big One Salmon Fishing Derby invites you to experience thrilling fishing action at Coeur d’Alene Lake in Idaho, scheduled from July 23 to July 27, 2025. This much-anticipated annual event, hosted by the Lake Coeur d’Alene Angler’s Association, welcomes anglers of all skill levels and their families. What are the requirements for salmon in the derby? To compete, adult salmon need to measure at least 30 inches, while youth participants are required to catch salmon that are 24 inches or longer. Weigh-in stations are conveniently located at Sun Up Bay and Carlin Bay, open from 7 AM to 9 PM Wednesday through Saturday, and until noon on Sunday. Be sure to arrive with your catch during these hours for a fair chance at recognition and rewards.
