Shop Shakedown Street during Asheville’s Billy Strings run
Stroll a pop-up market of vendors and fan gear outside Harrah’s Cherokee Center during the 2026 Billy Strings run—four days of music-weekend energy.
Event details
The AVL Shakedown Street vendor market, inspired by the Grateful Dead tradition of parking lot markets, sets up just steps from the venue on concert days, running from 11 a.m. until an hour after each show. Admission is free.
Expect tie-dye tapestries, custom band tees and “heady” fan art, handmade jewelry, stickers, crystals, and local artisan crafts spread across more than a dozen vendor stalls. The atmosphere evokes a festival: tie-dye-clad concert-goers everywhere, music pouring from nearby bars, and what regulars describe as “beautiful people, smiling faces.” Additional satellite markets pop up at nearby venues including Third Room’s “Shakedown on Wall Street” (1–6 p.m.) and unofficial celebrations at The Whale and DSSOLVR breweries featuring livestreams and BMFS trivia nights.
