On Sunday, August 31, 2025 at dawn, Lake Shore Drive closes to vehicles for Bike the Drive. Cyclists of all levels enjoy 15-mile round-trip along the lakefront from 5 AM–9 AM. Support stations offer water and snacks; family groups ride cruiser loops near Grant Park. Registration is free but required online, and limited bike rentals are available at Speedway concession stands.
