Fremont Lakes SRA is built for easy family fishing: calm sandpit lakes, plenty of shoreline, and room for kids to spread out. The Bob Bruner Memorial Fishing Derby adds the fun extras, with volunteers and local groups providing bait, loaner tackle, instruction, food, and prizes.
The derby is held at Lake #16 on a free fishing and park entry day, so it’s a low-stress way to try the sport. Arrive a little early to claim a spot and get set up before the first casts.
