Event details

The BOLDERBoulder 10K is more than a race. It is a full-scale Memorial Day tradition that turns Boulder, Colorado into a moving block party anchored by a 6.2-mile course through neighborhood streets and downtown, then into a headline finish inside Folsom Field on the University of Colorado campus. Along the route, you will pass live bands, local DJs, and dance crews that keep the momentum high from the start to the stadium gates.

This event is built for every pace and every plan, from elite athletes to families with strollers and friends in costume. You will start in a well-run wave system that groups runners by expected speed, reducing bottlenecks and keeping the course flowing. The finish is only the beginning: once you are inside the stadium, you can stay for the pro race finale, and you can also take in one of the largest Memorial Day Tributes in the United States, featuring a flyover and a formal ceremony that brings the entire venue to attention.

To keep your morning smooth, arrive by 6:00 AM for security, then head to your assigned wave near 30th and Walnut. Plan for Boulder’s high-altitude sun with quality sunscreen and light, moisture-wicking layers, since the air can feel cool early. Traffic and parking tighten quickly around the university, so use bike-share or RTD buses when you can. Bring your gear in a clear bag to meet the university’s stadium-entry policy, and use the mobile lockers at the start if you want your belongings transported to the finish area.

Register early since fees typically rise after March 1, and check the forecast because the race runs rain or shine and morning thunderstorms are possible in the Rockies. For lodging, stay downtown or near University Hill for easy walking access to the start and post-race activity; for a quieter base, look near the Boulder Creek Path or at the foot of the Flatirons. We also recommend browsing Lake.com for additional regional homes and long-weekend options. If you are bringing younger runners, the Bold Squad program is designed for participants 14 and under, with training support and dedicated medals; leave pets at home, since they are not allowed on the course or inside Folsom Field.
