Western Kentucky skies light up over Doctor’s Park
End your holiday evening in Calvert City with a dusk fireworks show following the Ameribration parade and a full day of outdoor celebration.
Event details
Doctor’s Park Sports Complex closes out Calvert City’s Ameribration schedule with the event everyone has been building toward. On Saturday, July 4, 2026, at 9 p.m., fireworks light up the western Kentucky sky over the park grounds, giving the day a clean, crowd-friendly finale that follows naturally from the afternoon’s tournament, the evening parade, and whatever time you spent on the nearby lakes earlier in the day. Admission is free. The park is open ground. Bring chairs.
The Payoff After a Full Day
What makes Doctor’s Park work as a fireworks venue is precisely its lack of pretension. This is a community sports complex turned holiday gathering point: wide lawn, open sightlines, families on blankets, kids running the outfield grass. The fireworks are the whole point of the evening, and nothing about the setting competes with them.
After the Show
The Kentucky Lakes region rewards travelers who stay through the holiday weekend rather than heading home on the night of the Fourth. Lake Barkley’s early-morning calm on July 5 is among the most pleasant on-the-water experiences in western Kentucky; the fishing is productive before the pleasure-boat crowd arrives, and the coves off Prizer Point hold largemouth bass in numbers that justify bringing a rod. Patti’s 1880s Settlement in Grand Rivers, open through the holiday weekend, handles post-fireworks late dinners better than most regional options with a kitchen known for its mile-high meringue pie.
Logistics
Free admission. Doctor’s Park Sports Complex, E. 5th Avenue, Calvert City. Fireworks begin at 9 p.m. Arrive by 8:30 p.m. for open lawn viewing. Parking throughout the Calvert City corridor from the earlier parade events.
