Event details

Dells On Tap transforms downtown Wisconsin Dells into a self-guided brewery tour each October, offering unlimited 3-ounce pours from over 100 craft beers, ciders, and seltzers across multiple participating venues. The event typically runs on a Saturday afternoon and evening, with general admission tickets ($40-50) granting access to all locations plus a souvenir tasting glass. You’ll sample everything from Door County cherry wheat ales to Milwaukee IPAs while strolling the riverfront district and ducking into bars, restaurants, and outdoor tents set up along Broadway and Superior streets.

How It Works

Check-in starts at 1 p.m. at designated locations where you’ll receive your wristband and glass. Participating venues stay open until 6 or 7 p.m., giving you plenty of time to sample, eat, and pace yourself. The walk is self-guided, so you choose your own route and skip any stops that don’t interest you. Food vendors and food trucks are stationed throughout the route, and most bars offer full menus if you want a proper meal between tastings. Parking downtown fills early, so use the free shuttle from Wisconsin Dells Parkway lots or walk from your lakefront rental if you’re staying on Lake Delton.

Planning Your Visit

Book a Lake Delton waterfront rental on Lake.com so you can balance beer sampling with morning kayak sessions and sunset boat rides. October weather in the Dells averages mid-50s to low 60s, so dress in layers and bring a jacket for evening. Designate a driver or plan to use rideshare services. If you’re traveling with non-drinkers, they can still enjoy the festival atmosphere, live music at various venues, and food vendors. Pair the beer walk with a Sunday morning hike at Mirror Lake State Park or a lazy brunch at High Rock Cafe (est. 2002) before heading home.
