Event details

Platte River State Park sits on wooded bluffs above the river valley, with trails, small lakes, and wide-open views that feel like classic Nebraska. The East Outdoor Discovery Program turns that landscape into a hands-on classroom, with rotating stations that cover fishing, wildlife and habitat, outdoor ethics, and camping skills.

It’s a two-day, free program for 4th and 5th graders, and teachers must pre-register. Families can still use it as spring trip inspiration: plan a weekend with tower views, easy hikes, and time on the water.
