Event details

Every spring, you can celebrate Ontario’s sweetest tradition at one of the province’s largest single-day maple syrup festivals, held the last Saturday of April (April 26, 2026) in the charming village of Elmvale.

The 57th annual festival transforms Queen Street and the surrounding area into a celebration of liquid gold, with over 200 vendor booths lining the streets selling maple syrup, crafts, collectibles, and country treasures from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The all-day pancake breakfast at the Community Hall serves thousands of visitors fluffy pancakes drenched in pure Ontario maple syrup alongside sausages, with live music by local performers creating a festive atmosphere while you eat.

You can tour Lalonde’s Sugarbush to see firsthand how maple syrup is made, watch the firefighters compete in the pancake-eating contest, cheer on local dignitaries during the log-sawing competition on the main stage, and meet Sparky the Fire Dog at the fire prevention booth. Inside Elmvale Arena, you will find craft and quilt shows featuring local artisans, while kids enjoy carnival rides at the midway. The Sugar Shack information booth located inside the arena gates provides festival directories and answers questions.

This fundraising event supports Elmvale’s schools, music programs, library, arena, Girl Guides, Scouts, and community projects, so every maple syrup bottle you purchase gives back to this tight-knit community.

Free parking is available at local schools and churches throughout the village, with parking guides helping you find spots. Springwater Township strictly enforces tow-away zones along the west side of Amelia Street, south side of Stone Street, and north side of William Street, so follow posted signs carefully.

Elmvale sits in Simcoe County between Georgian Bay and Lake Simcoe, just 20 minutes from Wasaga Beach and 40 minutes from Midland’s waterfront. The village itself rests along the Nottawasaga River, which flows northwest to Georgian Bay. After filling up on pancakes and maple treats, you can drive 15 minutes to the Minesing Wetlands, a 6,000-hectare internationally significant wetland that represents the largest and most diverse wetland ecosystem in southern Ontario.

Make it a long weekend by booking a cottage on Lake.com along Georgian Bay’s southern shores near Wasaga Beach, Penetanguishene, or Midland. Here you can combine this maple celebration with waterfront relaxation, kayaking, and exploring the 30,000 islands of the world’s largest freshwater archipelago.
