Fine art shopping at Rocky Mountain’s front door
Shop paintings, pottery, jewelry, and more at Estes Park’s free Memorial Day weekend art market, with live music and food in Bond Park.
Event details
The Estes Park Art Market kicks off the summer season in northern Colorado with an open-air weekend in Bond Park at MacGregor Avenue and Elkhorn Avenue. You will find about 100 juried artists from across the country, with rows of fine art and contemporary craft that range from functional pottery and metalwork to fine jewelry. Plan to take your time; the layout invites conversation with makers, and live music runs throughout the weekend.
Admission is free, and the market uses a hard-surface footprint in the center of downtown Estes Park. We recommend arriving in the morning if you want the widest selection before mid-day crowds. Expect strong variety across media, including fiber arts, woodcrafts, and large-scale photography, plus food vendors for snacks and drinks. The park area is wheelchair accessible, and you can step out to nearby shops and restaurants when you want a break from browsing.
To make the day run smoothly, arrive early Saturday or Sunday to secure parking in municipal lots, especially on holiday weekends, or use the local shuttle and walk. Bring a sturdy tote, wear layers for fast temperature shifts, and apply high SPF sunscreen even when skies are overcast; at 7,522 feet, the sun hits harder. Check the forecast each morning; if afternoon thunderstorms roll in, the Art Center of Estes Park gallery is a short walk away. If you see a piece you want, buy it early; popular ceramic and jewelry work often sells out by Sunday afternoon.
If you want the easiest access, stay in the downtown corridor or near Fall River; for quieter evenings, look toward Marys Lake or along the Big Thompson River, including vacation rentals sized for your group. The market runs Saturday and Sunday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Monday 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Dogs are welcome if well-behaved and leashed, though mid-day heat on pavement can be tough on paws.
