Stone Mountain stretches the Fourth across six big nights
Celebrate July 1–6 at Stone Mountain Park with a mountain backdrop, drone-and-light show, and fireworks in one of Georgia’s biggest holiday traditions.

Stone Mountain Park’s Fantastic Fourth Celebration is Georgia’s most awarded and most ambitious Independence Day event, named a Must-See Fireworks Show by USA Today and one of Reader’s Digest’s picks for America’s Most Spectacular Fourth of July Fireworks. The 2026 celebration runs July 1 through July 7 at 1000 Robert E. Lee Boulevard, with park attractions open daily from 10:30 a.m. and the Music Across America Drone and Light Show plus fireworks beginning at 9:30 p.m. each night. Tickets are $10 per person for the Light Show only, while full Attractions Tickets include daytime rides, the Summit Skyride cable car, the five-mile scenic railroad, and lawn seating for the evening show. July 4th is a blackout date for member passes and requires a ticket. Arriving by 5:00 p.m. is strongly recommended as the park closes its gates to traffic once parking capacity is reached with no re-entry once departed.
The Music Across America Show
The nightly production is Stone Mountain’s most technically ambitious offering in its history. The Music Across America Drone and Light Show deploys 250 choreographed color-changing drones in formation above the 825-foot granite dome, including a soaring eagle formation with fireworks bursting from its wings. The show layers 4K projection mapping onto the mountain’s face, high-power laser systems, atmospheric flame cannons shooting 100 feet, and a full surround-sound score before the patriotic fireworks finale closes each evening. The production runs identically all seven nights, giving families who cannot attend on July 4th equally strong options on surrounding evenings with shorter arrival queues. Reserved Snack Terrace and BBQ Dinner Terrace seating are available on non-July 4th nights for guests who prefer an elevated viewing position.
Points of Interest for Families
The Stone Mountain Summit Skyride cable car ascends to the top of the dome where, on clear days, the Atlanta skyline and surrounding Piedmont landscape are visible for roughly 60 miles. The one-mile hiking trail to the summit is an alternative for families willing to climb, and the views from the top make it one of the stronger payoffs per unit of effort available on any Georgia family hike. The park’s wildlife trails and reconstructed 19th-century historic district add additional programming for the daytime hours before the evening show.
Dining at the Park and Nearby
The park’s Grist Mill restaurant on the event lawn area and several additional concession options operate during the Fantastic Fourth. For a dinner outside the park before arriving, Porch on the Square in nearby Decatur on the Decatur Square, about 12 miles west, is one of Atlanta’s most celebrated Southern restaurants, known for its pimento cheese, fried chicken, and seasonal vegetable sides built around Georgia-sourced ingredients. The Iberian Pig on East Ponce de Leon Avenue in Decatur is the area’s strongest Spanish-influenced restaurant, with jamón ibérico, charcuterie, and a wine list that draws a devoted crowd.

Stone Mountain Lake within the park offers waterfront cottage rental options that position guests on the water with walking access to the evening show grounds. Book your stay near Stone Mountain on Lake.com and plan to be in the park before 5:00 p.m. to avoid the gate closures that affect late arrivals on July 4th.
