Event details

For three days every Memorial Day Weekend, downtown Marktplatz in Fredericksburg turns into a Cajun-meets-Texas celebration with steaming crawfish, live music, and enough festival energy to fill the 100 block of West Main Street. Held May 22-24, 2026, this annual event hosted by the Fredericksburg Jaycees runs Friday 6 p.m. to midnight, Saturday 11 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday noon to 6 p.m. Admission is $12 Friday, $15 Saturday, and $10 Sunday, with kids ages 6-12 paying $5 (ages 5 and under free). Two- and three-day passes are available for better value. Past headliners have included Texas country acts like Josh Ward, Kyle Park, and Kevin Fowler, with Cajun bands like Bayou Roux and Zydeco Blanco keeping the dance floor moving between main stage sets.

Seafood lovers, families with kids, and anyone who enjoys outdoor festivals will find plenty to love here. Beyond the crawfish boils, you’ll find gumbo, boudin, red beans and rice, and other Louisiana favorites from multiple food vendors, plus arts and crafts booths and a carnival for younger festival-goers. Street parking fills early, so arrive by 5:30 p.m. Friday or 10:30 a.m. Saturday for spots along Main Street, or use the public lots behind downtown businesses. Ticket sales are cash-only at the gate.

Memorial Day Weekend in Fredericksburg typically brings warm afternoons (85-90°F) and pleasant evenings (65-70°F), ideal for outdoor eating and dancing. Bring sunscreen, a hat, and comfortable shoes for standing or dancing on the pavement. If rain threatens, most food and vendor booths operate under tents, though the outdoor concert area stays open unless storms are severe. Turn this into a full Hill Country weekend by spending your days wine tasting along the 290 Wine Trail, then returning to the festival for evening entertainment. Lake.com offers waterfront rentals on Canyon Lake and Lake LBJ, about 45 minutes from Fredericksburg, where you can cool off with morning swims or afternoon boat rides between festival sessions.
