Family Fishing Fun at Beaver River Pond

Join us at Beaver River Pond in Beaver County, Alberta, for the annual Kids Can Catch event on Sunday, July 13, 2025. This exciting, family-friendly fishing tournament is perfect for young anglers aged 16 and under. It’s a fantastic opportunity for kids to immerse themselves in the world of freshwater fishing while learning about conservation. Whether you’re a budding angler or new to fishing, our dedicated volunteers will guide you through everything from baiting a hook to finding the best spots to cast your line. They will also explain what to do once you’ve caught your first fish, ensuring a memorable experience for all participants. Bring your fishing rod if you have one; however, if you don’t, we’ll have rods available for you to borrow. This event falls within Alberta’s Family Fishing Weekend, meaning you won’t need a fishing license to participate. Throughout the day, we’ll have free giveaways for youth participants while supplies last, adding an extra touch of excitement to the tournament. The Kids Can Catch program is a province-wide initiative that collaborates with community and corporate sponsors to promote proper fish care and encourage family-friendly fun. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all event organizers, partners, and volunteers for their efforts in making this day possible. It’s not just about fishing; it’s about community, learning, and creating lasting memories by the lakeside.
