Spring at Indiana Dunes has a sweet side. Maple Sugar Time at the Bailly Homestead and Chellberg Farm turns the woods behind Lake Michigan into a living sugar shack, with demonstrations of tapping, boiling, and bottling, plus plenty of chances to taste the finished syrup.
Plan to arrive early for parking and bring boots for muddy trails. Between activities, take an easy stroll through the historic farmstead, then head a few minutes to the beach for wind-in-your-hair dune views.
