Lakefront camping and activities at East Fork’s big weekend
A weekend campout at East Fork State Park, with organized activities around the lake and campground, perfect for families wanting an easy Memorial Day escape.
Event details
Spend Memorial Day weekend on the north shore of East Fork Lake in Batavia, Ohio, where the Memorial Day Campout is reserved for registered campers and built around classic campground community. You will be based near the Campground Shelter, the central meeting point between shoreline walks, time on the water, and evening social plans across the 2,816 acre reservoir.
You can plan around a full activity schedule, with a decorated golf cart parade as the weekend highlight and prizes for the most creative designs. Tie dye sessions are typically offered for a small fee, often around $15, and live music is usually scheduled for Saturday evening when weather allows. We recommend checking in early so you can get oriented and still make time for the beach and lake access.
Camping is substantial here, with more than 400 wooded sites and electric hookups throughout the developed campground. Families often favor loops A and B for easier access to restrooms and the beach, while loops F and G tend to feel quieter and more shaded. You can bring a boat, with a ramp available and trailer parking at the camp office lot, and you can also carry in kayaks and paddlecraft from the dedicated camper beach.
Holiday weekends book quickly, so reserve as soon as the six month window opens. If you are visiting friends, note the $3 visitor fee for guests entering the campground from the Tuesday before Memorial Day through Labor Day, and use 2837 Old State Route 32 for GPS to reach the campground entrance. Pack strong bug spray and water shoes for rocky lake entry, and if you bring pets, keep up to two leashed pets per site and plan for beach and shower house restrictions.
