Event details

On Monday, May 25, 2026, the Memorial Day Parade and Festival in Falls Church turns the city center into a full-day tribute and community celebration. You will find the main action on the grounds of City Hall and the Community Center, with the day beginning at 9:00 AM with the Beyer 3K Fun Run through town streets. By 11:00 AM, attention shifts to the Veterans Memorial for a formal ceremony led by the Greater Falls Church Veterans Council, a focused moment to honor fallen service members.

As the afternoon builds, you can move from the ceremony into festival mode with food trucks, more than 70 vendor booths, and local groups showcasing crafts and services from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Families typically gravitate to Cherry Hill Park for the kids area, where pony rides, moon bounces, and mechanical attractions run throughout the day (rides are ticketed). If you are bringing a dog, leashes are required, but keep in mind that dense crowds and marching bands can be tough on pets.

At 2:00 PM, claim your spot along Park Avenue for the parade, the day’s signature spectacle, with marching bands, military units, and floats competing for the Judges Choice Award. Plan to arrive by 10:00 AM if you want shade and a clean sightline before the curb fills in. For parking, you will do best with the George Mason Square Garage at 103 W. Broad Street or the Kaiser Permanente Deck.

Come prepared for midday heat with a reusable water bottle and high-SPF sunscreen, and carry some cash since a few smaller vendors still prefer it, even though many accept digital payments. The event is free to attend, and it typically runs rain or shine, but you should check the City of Falls Church official social media if severe weather is in play. If the Community Center is closed for construction, portable restrooms and first aid stations are clearly marked behind City Hall, and the route and main grounds are ADA accessible.
