Event details
Memorial Day Weekend at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park RV Resort in Lake Charles kicks off summer in Southwest Louisiana with a social, high-energy mix of water time and themed resort events. You can lean into the camp-resort rhythm during the day, then shift to evening programming that includes a golf-cart parade, a dance party, and a Saturday night concert.
The weekend centerpiece is a live performance by The Chee Weez, a tribute band known for big costumes and stadium-rock volume. Plan to spend most of your daylight hours at the pools and splash zone, or along the shoreline of the private lake, then follow the crowd toward the parade route and the concert lawn as the day cools down.
If you want the full experience, book your RV site or cabin well ahead of time since Memorial Day regularly sells out. Bring your own golf cart or reserve a rental early if you want to join the parade, and pack high-SPF sunscreen plus insect repellent for late-spring Louisiana. For the show, arrive at least 30 minutes early to claim a strong viewing spot.
You will get the most direct access by staying on-site, but Lake Charles also offers casino resorts, waterfront hotels, and nearby vacation rentals if you prefer a quieter reset after the festivities. Day-pass availability can change based on occupancy, and while most entertainment is typically included for overnight guests, some premium activities may cost extra. The resort is family-oriented with quiet hours and clear safety rules around the splash zones and lake.
