Event details

Resurrection Pass Ultras send runners across one of the Kenai Peninsula’s defining backcountry corridors, with a 100-mile race beginning Friday afternoon from Hope and a 50-mile race starting Saturday from Cooper Landing. Both routes wind through forest and mountain passes toward remote aid stations that exist nowhere near a road or a reliable cell signal.

This is an event for committed ultrarunners and their support crews rather than casual family spectating, since access is limited to trailheads and designated support points along the route. Families traveling with a runner should treat race day as an exercise in patience, tracking progress from a distance rather than following along step by step through the remote wilderness itself.

Both distances demand extensive preparation, crew coordination, and overnight travel logistics well ahead of race weekend. Competitors should secure lodging near their chosen start or finish, study shuttle and support rules in advance, and pack for rapidly changing mountain weather. Spectator access stays limited to trailheads; race registration itself varies by distance and tends to fill early each summer.
