Beavers are the original engineers, and spring is when their handiwork shows up loud and clear along creeks and backwaters. This spring-break session starts with a kid-friendly presentation, then heads outside to look for dams, lodges, slides, and the telltale pencil-point chews.

It’s an easy, curiosity-first outing that pairs well with a longer day at nearby Platte River trails. Bring binoculars if you have them and dress for muddy edges.
