The Afton House Inn was formely know as the The Cushing Hotel andwas a two-story frame structure measuring 24 feet by 80 feet.It was constructed in 1867 on the foundations of the earlier 1856 PatersonHotel which was destroyed by fire in 1861. The foundation of the PatersonHotel survives beneath, The Cushing Hotel and measures 24 feet by 24 feet. Likethe present hotel, the Paterson Hotel was two stories in height and of wood frame construction.
