Cedar Lake Yacht Club

Situated on the picturesque shores of Big Cedar Lake in Wisconsin, Cedar Lake Yacht Club (CLYC) stands as one of the Midwest’s premier sailing institutions, offering competitive racing, vibrant social events, and a multigenerational community that celebrates a passion for sailing. Open seasonally from late spring through early fall, CLYC boasts a newly remodeled clubhouse and expansive waterfront, ideally located on a scenic point that provides panoramic lake views and optimal racecourse access.

CLYC supports five active one-design fleets: the C Scow, MC Scow, Melges 15, X Boat (junior sailors), and the Optimist Dinghy for beginners, plus a radio-controlled “F Fleet” for off-water fun. The club’s renowned youth sailing school provides instruction for kids ages 7 to 16, with programs tailored to all experience levels.

Throughout the season, families, sailing enthusiasts, and competitive racers gather for regattas, lakeside barbecues, holiday celebrations, and special anniversary events. In 2024, the club commemorated its 125th anniversary with exclusive branded merchandise and a newly unearthed time capsule that connects generations of sailors.
