The Port of Kingston, situated at the northeastern tip of the Kitsap Peninsula, is a maritime gem that has been a cornerstone of the region since its establishment in 1919. Originally created to serve as a docking facility for the storied Mosquito Fleet, which provided car and passenger services until 1951, the port has evolved into a vibrant hub for boaters and travelers alike.
The marina, built on land donated by the Puget Mill Company in 1930 and expanded through eminent domain, opened its gates in 1967 with an initial capacity for 274 boats. Today, it boasts additional slips, a guest dock, and amenities that cater to both local and visiting boaters. The port’s strategic location at the northern mouth of Puget Sound makes it a popular destination, attracting over 20,000 boaters annually.
Surrounded by beautifully expanded public green spaces, including Saltair Beach and the former Kingston Inn Restaurant property now converted into a public park, the Port of Kingston offers a seamless blend of maritime heritage and modern convenience, making it an irresistible stop for those exploring the Pacific Northwest.
