The Port of Silverdale, situated at 3550 NW Byron St, Silverdale, WA, is a historically rich and revitalized maritime hub. Established on April 13, 1920, this port has played a pivotal role in the community, initially managed by the Silverdale Poultry Association before being taken over by port commissioners in October 1921. The port facilitated the transportation of people and goods, including eggs, chickens, and milk, while also serving employees of the nearby Puget Sound Navy Yard.
After a period of dormancy from 1950 to 1965, the port was reinvigorated by new commissioners who expanded its functions to include industrial, recreational, and transportation activities. Today, the Port of Silverdale stands as a testament to its resilient history, offering a blend of modern amenities and historic charm. Its strategic location makes it a vibrant destination for both local commerce and leisure activities, reflecting the evolving needs of the Silverdale community over the decades.
