White Bear Yacht Club, situated at 56 Dellwood Ave on the shores of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, is a historic gem that has been a cornerstone of maritime and golfing excellence since its founding in 1889. Established by a group of St. Paul sailors, the club quickly grew, boasting over 42 members by the spring of 1890. The original clubhouse was the Kirby Barnum Hotel, which provided members with convenient access via a train stop right at its doorstep.

Over the years, the club has evolved, adding a 9-hole golf course designed by Scottish architect William Watson in 1912, later expanded and refined by the legendary Donald Ross. Today, it is renowned for its extensive sailing regattas and the largest “A” boat fleet in the United States. The current lakeside clubhouse, designed by A.H. Stem, architect of New York City’s Grand Central Station, stands as a testament to the club’s rich history and enduring elegance. White Bear Yacht Club is a private athletic and social organization, offering a luxurious blend of yachting, golf, tennis, and swimming, set against the picturesque backdrop of White Bear Lake.
