Swim, bike, run in the St. George Triathlon
From first-timers to seasoned racers, this April triathlon delivers sunshine, smooth courses, and a family-friendly vibe in Greater Zion.
Event details
Every April, the Sand Hollow Aquatic Center becomes home base for one of Southern Utah’s most accessible triathlons, where beginners and seasoned athletes share the same course in a spectator-friendly format that keeps all the action centered around one venue. The St. George Triathlon, held April 11, 2026, offers five race categories: Adult Individual Sprint (400m swim, 12-mile bike, 3-mile run), Adult Sprint Relay (team format with categories for Open Men, Open Women, and Mixed), Adult Beginner (200m swim, 6-mile bike, 1.55-mile run), Kids Sprint, and Kids Beginner for ages 17 and under. Start times run from 7 a.m. for elite waves through 12:30 p.m. for kids races.
The indoor pool swim (81-84 degrees with lap counters) eliminates open-water anxiety, while the bike course loops through St. George neighborhoods and the run follows an out-and-back path perfect for supporters. Registration runs $70-$80 for adults until late March (late registration $80-$95 through April 10), and just $20 for kids ($35 late registration). Relay teams pay $80 early or $95 late. Parking is available at Snow Canyon High School (1215 Lava Flow Drive) with no street parking allowed. All finishers receive medals, and top performers in each age category earn awards. The consolidated course layout means families can watch swimmers, bikers, and runners without shuttling between venues, making this ideal for traveling teams and spectators who want to see multiple legs of the race.
