Each May, the Lake Erie marshes become a front-row seat for one of North America’s greatest wildlife spectacles. The Biggest Week in American Birding brings guided walks, workshops, and family-friendly activities to northwest Ohio as warblers and other songbirds pour through Magee Marsh and nearby refuges.
Base yourself at Maumee Bay State Park for lakeshore sunsets and easy beach time between events. Even beginners feel welcome: there are plenty of low-pressure outings, optics demos, and quick lessons that help kids spot their first colorful spring migrants.
