Big air, DJ beats, and après at Heavenly
Three days of big-air action and après parties at Heavenly, featuring DJs and on-mountain fun set against Lake Tahoe’s South Shore winter views.
Event details
From February 27 through March 1, 2026, Heavenly Mountain Resort transforms its base area into a three-day winter spectacle where aerial competitions meet pulsing DJ sets and the kind of high-energy après scene that defines South Lake Tahoe.
Skiers and snowboarders launch off massive jumps built specifically for the event, twisting through the alpine air while crowds gather below to watch, cheer, and soak in the electric atmosphere.
Between runs, DJs spin from elevated stages, turning the village into an outdoor dance floor where you can move between hot chocolate, craft beer, and front-row views of athletes throwing double corks against a backdrop of Lake Tahoe’s cobalt water. Admission is free, making this an easy addition to any late-winter ski trip—whether you’re here for the competition or simply want to experience Tahoe when it’s leaning into its party side.
Who Should Go
Action sports fans, skiers, and snowboarders of all levels, and anyone who enjoys live music and outdoor gatherings will find plenty to love here. Families with older kids (8+) can watch the big-air competition during the day, though the après scene skews toward adults and young professionals once the sun sets. Couples looking for a lively, social weekend will appreciate the blend of mountain action and village energy. Solo travelers often use events like this to meet people—share a table at the outdoor bar, strike up a conversation while watching a run, and you’ll likely leave with new friends and dinner plans.
What to Expect
• Big-air competition runs throughout the day Friday through Sunday; check Heavenly’s event schedule for exact times and featured athletes
• DJ sets typically start in the late afternoon (3-4 PM) and continue into early evening
• Free entry to the base area and viewing zones; lift tickets required if you’re skiing
• Parking at Heavenly Village fills quickly on event weekends—arrive by 9 AM if skiing, or use public transit and shuttles from South Lake Tahoe
• Late February through early March brings spring-like conditions: warm days (40s-50s°F), slushy afternoon snow, and brilliant sunshine
• Pack sunscreen, sunglasses, and layers; it’s warm in the sun but chilly in the shade
• If crowds feel overwhelming, take the gondola up for a mid-mountain break with lake views and quieter terrain
After the Action
When you’re ready for a sit-down meal, walk to Scusa! Italian Ristorante in Heavenly Village (open since 2008, known for house-made pasta and an extensive wine list). For a longer South Shore stay, book through Lake.com and look for properties near the Heavenly Village or along Ski Run Boulevard. You’ll have walking access to the resort, the lake, and the Nevada state line, where casinos and late-night entertainment keep the energy going well past dark.
