Creator Program
Hosting a Creator Stay Through the Lake Creator Program
The Lake Creator Program matches approved social media creators with host properties for complimentary stays in exchange for content. As a host, participating means your property gets authentic, high-quality photos and videos — shared with real audiences who are actively looking for lakeside stays.

How the program works
Lake.com recruits and vets creators, matches them to properties, and manages the agreement — you don’t need to find or negotiate with creators yourself.
Here’s the basic exchange:
- The creator gets: Complimentary lodging for their stay (Sunday–Thursday only)
- You get: Professionally produced content featuring your property, shared to the creator’s audience and usable in your own marketing
- Lake.com gets: Content that helps families discover and book waterfront stays
All creator stays are booked Sunday through Thursday only. Fridays, Saturdays, and Federal Holidays are not part of the program, so your peak-revenue nights are never affected.
What creators produce during their stay
Deliverables are tied to stay length. Every creator arrives with a signed agreement and defined content requirements.
| Stay Length | Reels | Story Set | Photos | Blog on Lake.com |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 night | 1 | 1 | 4 | — |
| 2 nights | 2 | 1 | 6 | — |
| 3 nights | 3 | 1 | 8 | ✓ Included |
The 3-night blog recap is hosted permanently on Lake.com. It pairs the creator’s story with your listing and Lake.com’s search traffic — meaning your property continues to get exposure long after the stay ends.
All final photos and video clips are delivered without on-screen text, captions, or overlays unless otherwise requested, so the content is clean and immediately usable.
Note: Creators are required to tag @lakedotcom and disclose the hosted nature of their stay (#hostedstay or #ad). All content must meet FTC disclosure standards.
Who stays at your property
Lake.com reviews every creator application personally. Approved creators share these qualities:
- Content is family-friendly — appropriate for grandparents, parents, and kids
- Their audience is genuinely engaged with waterfront or outdoor life
- They create story-driven content, not purely aesthetic feeds
- They respect host properties and follow the property’s rules
- Follower count ranges from 5,000 to 500,000+, but engagement quality matters more than size
Creators who produce party-focused content, use language or themes that conflict with Lake.com’s values, or whose content isn’t appropriate for a general audience are not admitted to the program.
What to expect before, during, and after
Before the stay
- Lake.com matches a creator to your property based on location, content style, and your property’s story
- The creator signs a Lake Creator Agreement before arrival
- You’ll be informed of the stay dates and guest details
During the stay
- The creator pays the cleaning fee directly to you
- A credit card is kept on file for security deposits and incidentals, the same as any standard booking
- Creators are expected to treat your home as a trusted friend’s lake house: with care, respect, and responsibility
- Content is captured during the stay; creators do not bring additional crews or run commercial productions without prior agreement
After the stay
- Deliverables are due within 10 days of checkout unless otherwise agreed in writing
- Content goes live on the creator’s social platforms, tagged to your property and Lake.com
- If a 3-night stay was completed, the blog recap is published on Lake.com
Your rights to the content
You have the right to use creator content in your own property marketing. Here’s what that means in practice:
- Lake.com holds a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and repurpose the content for marketing, listings, and advertising
- You (the host) receive usage rights for your own property marketing — consistent with the terms of the Creator Agreement
- If you want to use content in paid advertising, that requires a separate written agreement with Lake.com
- Creators retain ownership of their original work but cannot use content produced at your property for third-party brand campaigns without prior written approval
If Lake.com or a host partner is interested in licensing specific content beyond the standard terms, those conversations happen separately and in writing.

Frequently asked questions
Do I get paid for hosting a creator?
No. This is a content-for-lodging exchange. The creator receives complimentary lodging; you receive content. The creator pays the cleaning fee, and a card is held on file for incidentals.
Can I decline a creator match?
Yes. Lake.com will share details about a potential creator match before confirming the stay. You are not obligated to accept every match.
What if the creator doesn’t deliver the content?
The Creator Agreement includes a non-performance clause. If a creator fails to deliver their content without an approved written extension, Lake.com may seek reimbursement from the creator up to the retail value of the lodging. You are not responsible for enforcing this.
Can I use the content in my own social media or listing photos?
Yes, for your own property marketing. If you want to use the content in paid advertising, contact Lake.com to arrange a separate written agreement.
What content standards apply?
All creator content must be family-friendly, rated “E for Everyone.” It must lead with lakeside life, show the property honestly, and comply with FTC disclosure rules. Creators are not permitted to produce party-focused, adult, or misleading content under this program.
Are weekend stays available?
No. Creator stays are Sunday through Thursday only. Fridays, Saturdays, and Federal Holidays are excluded from the program.
What if the creator damages my property?
Standard Lake.com host protections apply. The creator provides a card on file before arrival, which may be charged for documented damages consistent with your property’s rules.
How is a creator matched to my property?
Lake.com considers the creator’s geographic location, content style, audience, and the kind of story they want to tell — then matches them to a property that fits. You’ll be notified before the stay is confirmed.
