Although nobody wants to think about canceling a trip, knowing your options is essential if you need to request a refund. 

Lake has specific refund policies with guidelines determining how much of your payment can be refunded and under what circumstances. 

Summary of Refund Policy

As you navigate the booking process on our platform, it’s essential to understand the refund policies available, designed to protect both your interests and those of your hosts. Here’s a breakdown of the typical refund options:

Flexible: You’ll receive a full refund of the accommodation fees if you cancel up to 24 hours before check-in. Please note that service fees may only sometimes be refundable.

Moderate: If you decide to cancel up to 5 days before check-in, you can expect a full refund. Keep in mind that service fees might be retained.

Strict: Should you need to cancel, doing so 7 or more days before check-in will typically result in a 50% refund of the accommodation fees. As the check-in date gets closer, the refund amount may decrease.

Very Strict: With these policies, you may receive a partial refund if you cancel several weeks in advance. However, cancellations closer to check-in usually do not qualify for a refund.

Long-Term: For stays of 28 days or more, canceling before check-in may give you a refund for the first 30 days. Once your stay has begun, you’ll need to provide a longer notice period for any changes to your reservation.

Non-Refundable: If you opt for a non-refundable booking, please be aware that no refunds will be given if you cancel after the reservation is made.

Recognizing Extraordinary Circumstances Do Happen

Our extenuating circumstances policy may allow for more lenient refund terms if extraordinary circumstances arise, such as a serious illness or natural disaster. Always review the specific cancellation policy for your booking, which you can find in the terms and conditions or rental agreement, before you confirm your reservation.

Refunds may take five to seven business days to appear in your account, so it’s crucial to be aware of the process if you need to make any changes to your reservation.
