Event details
The First Ever 23rd Annual World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade returns to Bridge Street in Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas, on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, for a full day of celebrations culminating in a 6:30 PM parade down 98 feet of the world’s shortest street in everyday operational use. Grand Marshal Carmen Electra, actress and model best known for her role in Baywatch, leads the procession. Official Parade Starter Matt Iseman, host of NBC’s three-time Emmy-nominated “American Ninja Warrior,” fires the starter’s pistol at 6:31 PM. Special guest celebrities include College and Pro Football Hall of Famer Dan Hampton, Savannah Bananas “Dancing Umpire” Vincent Chapman, and the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, who have appeared annually since 2013. The Molly Ringwalds, the “Ultimate ’80s Experience” tribute band, perform a free public concert immediately following the parade on the Bridge Street Stage from 8 PM. Upwards of 30,000 spectators are expected downtown, consistent with recent editions.
The Full Day’s Schedule
The day opens with packet pickup for the 5th Ever World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Zero-K from 10 AM to 3:45 PM at Bridge Street and Malvern. The Zero-K covers a precise 299 feet, starting at one end of Bridge Street and finishing at O’Kelley’s Pub, described as the world’s largest inflatable Irish pop-up pub. The race begins at 4 PM and benefits Tri-Lakes CASA, which supports Court Appointed Special Advocates for foster children in Garland, Hot Spring, Clark, Grant, and Pike counties. Registration costs $25 before March 15 with full swag including T-shirt, finisher’s medal, swag bag, and race bib; late registration through event day is $30 with limited swag. At 3:45 PM, the passing of the shillelagh between leprechauns and the crowning of King Monte Everhart (the World’s Tallest Leprechaun) and Queen JoAnn Mangione (editor of Springs Magazine) takes place on Bridge Street. The Blarney Stone Kissing Contest runs at 4 PM at the Arkansas Blarney Stone on Convention Boulevard in front of the Hot Springs Convention Center, with a $100 prize. Pre-parade festivities begin at 5:30 PM. The Famous Idaho Potato Tour’s four-ton Big Idaho Potato Truck returns after missing the 2025 parade, navigating the 90-degree turn onto Bridge Street with, historically, three inches to spare.
If You’re Going With Kids: The zero-K is the most family-appropriate physical activity of the day and the easiest entry point into the event’s competitive schedule: the 299-foot distance is manageable for children of any ambulatory age, and the costume contest that accompanies the race produces a range of St. Patrick’s Day theatrical commitment that children find reliably entertaining. Age-appropriate costume preparation in advance converts a spectating afternoon into a participatory event for the full family.
Hot Springs National Park: The Lakes That Surround the Parade
Hot Springs National Park sits within a ring of Ouachita Mountains lakes that provide the outdoor recreation infrastructure around which the city’s visitor economy is organised. Lake Hamilton and Lake Hamilton, Arkansas are accessible within minutes of Bridge Street, with marinas, houseboats, and fishing access creating a full-service lake recreation corridor that pairs naturally with a downtown St. Patrick’s Day evening. For families and couples extending the parade weekend into a Hot Springs lake stay, Lake.com lists properties including The Arkansas at 1611 Residences and The Ouachita at 1611 Residences, providing a refined and centrally located accommodation option in the Spa City that keeps the parade, the lakes, and the historic Bathhouse Row all within easy reach.
